Raising the Bar in Business Training

Morrison University and The Center for Business Excellence have formed a partnership to create The Business Mastery Institute (BMI). BMI is focusing on providing Nevada businesses with best practices and advanced skills training in all aspects of business and professional advancement. Training is in the form of seminars, workshops, e-learning, retreats, coaching and colloquia that provide business process and interpersonal skills learning opportunities for professionals. BMI builds on an individual’s academic and experiential background and provides the most appropriate information and delivery format for each individual and environment. BMI also takes learning and facilitation beyond traditional environments, into the workplace, electronic platforms or venue-of-choice for the customers.

Morrison is a 105 year-old icon in Reno. Their nighttime MBA program is a model for non-traditional accelerated academic advancement that is tailored to providing the practical experience their students need to be exceptionally qualified to advance their careers. Under the leadership of Greg Schlauch, Morrison is expanding its academic services to meet stated needs of local businesses and to provide innovative services not provided by traditional academic venues.

The Center for Business Excellence (CBE) is a not-for-profit organization that has been chartered to lead Nevada to become the entrepreneurial capital of the world. It is a clearinghouse of qualified business resources and professional services supporting the businesses, economic development agencies and outreach programs in the State.

Aside from the two partners, BMI is also being strongly supported by The Tahoe Reno Industrial Center and an ever-growing list of business sponsors.

BMI is launching its first advanced training series, The Roadmap to Business Success. The first Executive workshop is Effective Problem Solving which was launched in November, 2006. BMI workshops are unique in that attendees are required to submit a problem or issue that needs immediate resolution. They will leave the workshop with a specific plan and tools to solve the problem and prevent its recurrence. The facilitators also offer a complimentary one-hour follow-up visit at the attendees company to ensure the training is effectively implemented. BMI hopes to be offering a monthly series of these workshops.
